Candur ("we", "our", or "the app") is a daily self-reflection app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Candur app handles, how we use it, and the choices you have. Candur is distributed through the Apple App Store.
In short: Candur has no accounts and no sign-in. Your reflections are stored only on your device. We do not track you, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
We do not collect your precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, health data, browsing history, or advertising identifier (IDFA).
To write your reflection response, the text of your entry is sent from the app to our own proxy server (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards it to the DeepSeek large language model API and returns the response to you. Only the text of your entry is sent for this purpose. It is sent without your name, email address, or any account or advertising identifier, and our proxy does not store the text of your reflections. Your app never talks to DeepSeek directly, and our API credentials are kept on our server, not in the app.
Use of the DeepSeek API is subject to DeepSeek's own terms and privacy policy. We do not use your reflections to train AI models, and we do not sell your reflections. Please avoid including information in your reflections that you would not want processed in this way.
Candur does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not contain third-party advertising, and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not share data with data brokers.
Candur+ is offered as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple using your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment card or billing details. Candur checks your purchase status directly with Apple on your device to unlock features. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from the Candur+ screen. You can restore purchases on a new device from the Candur+ screen. Refunds are handled by Apple.
We do not sell your personal data.
Candur has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. To erase your data, use Erase my data at the bottom of the Archive screen, or delete the Candur app from your iPhone. Either removes all reflections stored on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID subscription settings. See also Data Deletion.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK or California), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because we do not hold your name, email, or reflections, we generally have no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our side; you control your reflections directly on your device. Reflection text is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections, and your reflections are kept in your device's app storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Candur is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
If you enable daily reminders, Candur asks for notification permission and schedules a local notification on your device. Your chosen time stays on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
