1. Introduction

Candur ("we", "our", or "the app") is a daily self-reflection application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use Candur.

By using Candur, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile photo) from Google.
• Reflection content: The text you enter into the app each day is processed to generate a response. This content is transmitted to an AI language model (Claude by Anthropic) for processing.
• Mood data: If you use the optional mood slider, your selection is stored locally and associated with your reflection record.
• Usage data: Basic usage information such as streak count, subscription status, and reminder settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To generate your daily AI reflection response
• To store and display your reflection archive
• To send your daily reminder notification (if enabled)
• To manage your subscription and payment status
• To improve app stability and fix bugs

4. AI Processing

Your reflection input is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate a response. This processing is done in real time and is subject to Anthropic's own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.

Your reflection content is not used to train any AI model. We do not share, sell, or license your personal reflections to any third party.

5. Data Storage and Retention

• Your reflection records are stored securely and associated with your account.
• Free users: the 7 most recent records are accessible. Older records are retained but require Candur+ to view.
• Candur+ subscribers: unlimited records are stored and accessible.
• If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic: For AI response generation (reflection text only)
• Google: For authentication (Google Sign-In)
• Google Play Billing: For subscription payment processing

All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: Request a copy of your data
• Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of all your data
• Right to portability: Receive your data in a structured format
• Right to object: Object to processing of your data

8. Data Security

Candur is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Notification Data

If you enable daily reminders, your chosen notification time is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit notification preferences to our servers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
